I have been blogging in Blogger since November 2006. But thought of switching over to WordPress because I was impressed by the options we have here. And definitely that is not the only reason. I want to list out the reason why I’m switching over to WordPress for blogging:
1. I was impressed by the options we have here vis-a-vis Blogger
2. I was totally fed up of subscribing to Adsense to generate revenue, which now I think is mere foolishness. Now I want to get ads through sponsors but not through any middle person like Adsense. I mean I have to attract traffic for attracting advertisers that means I want to give important information to the visitors. Now that almost every info u get about how to do particular thing in ‘HOWSTUFFWORKS’ but is limited to US. Now I want my blog to be in similar lines but limiting to queries related to India. Suppose, If somebody wants to know how to apply for Electoral Card, he should be getting detailed info about how to get one. If sombody wants to apply for Passport, then what should he or she do? I do not know whether I will be successful to that extent because of my other occupation (Teaching) but will promise to fulfill every query i get..
3. As already stated I’ve been using Blogger past two years but recently one of my colleagues, one fine day, couldn’t just log into any of the google products, thus loosing out everything which he had in Google products. Just imagine if you have got addicted to google products like Gmail, Orkut and having everything overthere and one fine day not getting access to any of these things, it is like life coming to stand still. To avoid any such dependency on a single service provider, I want to spread my portfolio of using such services.
And these are the three main reasons which made me to use WordPress. Hoping to get good response here!!!!
